Self-Archiving by Authors

The authors agree to transfer copyrights to Pakistan Journal of Physiology on publication of their article. Pakistan Journal of Physiology has adapted the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs CC BY-ND license for the articles published in the Journal. This license allows for redistribution of all published stuff, for commercial and non-commercial use alike, provided the published work is passed along as a whole and the journal is credited where applicable. Keeping in mind the license, the self-archiving policy of Pakistan Journal of Physiology can be explained as follows:

 

Pre-print Files

The authors’ version of manuscript before it has been reviewed by the journal is called a pre-print. The authors have the right to publish/upload a pre-print of their research manuscript to either a personal website they maintain or a pre-print service such as bioRxiv or arXiv. Authors are expected to acknowledge the publication of the paper in Pakistan Journal of Physiology after it has been published and to provide a link to the final, reviewed version of the article on  Pakistan Journal of Physiology website. A suggested example of the acknowledgement is as under:

‘This is a pre-print of the final paper published in Pakistan Journal of Physiology, [Year, Volume number, Issue Number], and can be accessed at: https://pps.org.pk/PJP/[volume]-[issue number]/FileName.pdf]’.

 

Authors' accepted manuscript

The author’s accepted manuscript is the final version of a research paper which has been accepted for publication following a peer-review but has not been sent for copyediting. Authors can make their accepted manuscript immediately available as soon as it is accepted on, their personal self-maintained websites, their employer’s internal website (where available/applicable), or the repositories provided by their institution. Authors are expected to acknowledge the publication of the paper in PJP after it has been published and to provide a link to the final, reviewed version of the article on Pakistan Journal of Physiology website. A suggested example of the acknowledgement is as under:

‘This is a post peer-review, pre-copyedit version of the final paper published in Pakistan Journal of Physiology, [Year, Volume number, Issue Number], which can be accessed at: https://pps.org.pk/PJP/[volume]-[issue number]/FileName.pdf]’.

 

Published article

It is the final version of the article which published after completion of the editorial workflow. Authors have the right to share the published article with anyone via any means after publication as long as the credit to PJP is mentioned. A suggested version of the acknowledgement is as under:

‘This is the final version of the my/our paper published in Pakistan Journal of Physiology, [Year, Volume number, Issue Number], which can be accessed at: https://pps.org.pk/PJP/[volume]-[issue number]/FileName.pdf]’.
